Especially for those 60 + !
As we grow older, our body’s ability to assimilate this and other vital elements from our food. So there we have it — it is all down to what we eat, and which you will see is much easier to achieve than what we might feel.
If you know what to eat to get the benefits you need, there is no difficulty, and that’s because the facts about foods are not generally made known at the points of sale!
If you have access to the Internet, go to the website shown below to be surprised if not amazed; especially with the item shown at position 10. If you do watch the video, make recorded notes, so that you can verify with your doctor that this is the best plan for you. This document is provided for information, and not to replace any official medical advice !
- The first food recommended is Walnuts, these are high in Mg and ‘Omega 3’; at a level consistent with the necessary levels you need, and your daily ‘dosage’ is about 10 -15 halves. As a bonus, this nut is brilliant for brain care and isn’t it amazing that this nut looks like a tiny “Brain”! Refer to the “Songs of Solomon” in the bible for mention of these. There are also references in various chapters and books of the bible of many of the following foods.
- The next item is Figs — these can be eaten fresh or dried. The fresh Figs have a shelf life, but the dried Figs are much more convenient as they last longer without any special care, and make a good snack food. Additionally, there is a higher concentration of Mg plus Potassium and Calcium in the dried Figs. I have included the chemicals because they exist, and are also beneficial. A much clearer explanation can be found on the website video. Digestive health and blood pressure is benefitted by this fruit. Don’t over eat these, a handful is plenty each day.
- Pumpkin seeds are next, and these are particularly potent in their benefits — ounce for ounce, these provide more Mg than any other food on Earth! They also provide Iron, Zinc, Manganese and Phosphorus. May well help men with Prostate problems. You can snack on these daily, in small amounts, or sprinkle them over a salad or morning cereal.
- Almonds are a snack hard to resist, but once again, a handful per day is the maximum you should eat. Jacob of Egyptian origin liked his almonds! Besides Mg there is Vitamin E a powerful Antioxident. Also good for heart health, and Calcium for the bones. This nut can cause kidney stones if overindulged because of something called ‘Oxalate’ which is the negative for those with kidney problems, your doctor should be consulted here.
- Avocado, 1 half per day is sufficient here. The Avocado contains one of the highest levels of Potassium even more than Bananas (next) and vitamins A, D, E and K, . Also, they contain probably more beneficial elements than any other food, if you like the taste, but are good for gut health and all those little gut microbe guys that live there!
- Bananas, probably the most popular fruit, are good for heart and muscle health and provide different benefits whether fresh or slightly brown-spotting of the skin as they ripen continuously. They are good for the gut and the bacterial levels. There is also benefit in eating the unripe or green skin bananas. They are good for the brain and your mood!
- Lentils, these were a favourite of Esau cooked by his brother Jacob, it seems, and are very beneficial and one of the most complete plant foods there are available to us! They have besides; Mg, Folate, Potassium and Iron – good for the heart. They’re good for suppressing insulin resistance and prevention of type 2 diabetes. They’re easy to cook, no soaking necessary, and can be stirred into stews and soups. Check with the doctor if you have kidney problems or on blood-thinners. High in Potassium.
- Chickpeas, these have benefits that fall in line with many of the other items here, and are particularly good for those attempting weight control. When eaten in your meals, they give the impression of ‘fullness’, and so helps to regulate how much you eat. It also controls cholesterol problems, it reduces LDL cholesterol and even encourages the removal of LDL more rapidly than would be the case of not including these in your diet. Good for the heart and the gut, particularly ‘bloating issues’.
- Beans, Samuel was fond of beans, as was King David, it was also encouraged that they were baked into their daily Bread as instructed to the prophet Ezekiel. There are a few different bean types; some of which: Red beans, Black Beans etc. these are similar in benefits to Lentils, and are good for the heart also. Historically it has been recorded that those who regularly eat beams are less likely to suffer heart disease.
- Dark Chocolate, this is surprising, if not amazing, that this item actually features in this category, but it is a Trojan benefit, and ticks so many of the benefits listed here. It stands out as probably the best one in this list, but you must not overindulge yourself. Just eat a few squares per day, and you won’t exceed the best points of this food. It helps the heart and BP, diabetes, blood sugar control. Do not consider Milk Chocolate to be in the same league, it is full of all the things that are bad for you. It tastes nice, and should be taken in moderation.
I encourage you to access the video, it gives a much better and easily absorbed presentation than here, so I hope that what you have read has given you an interest.
